Kingston blows out Wellington, 5-1

The Kingston Voyageurs were firing on all cylinders against the Wellington Dukes, and when the final buzzer sounded Voyageurs emerged with a 5-1 win.

Kingston was led by goalie Colin Dzijacky, who finished with 38 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Dzijacky will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 1.84.

The Voyageurs were led by David Quesnele, who racked up one goal and one assist. Quesnele scored on the power play 9:59 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Kingston. Kingston had gotten the advantage when Wellington's Erick Delaurentis was sent off for slashing. Kris Grant assisted on the tally.

The Voyageurs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Wellington power plays.

Kingston additionally got points from Ludlow Harris, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Kingston also got a goal from Brian Nanne as well. Other players who recorded assists for Kingston were Andrew Fullerton, who had one and Brett Du Puy and Michael Casale, who contributed two a piece.

The Dukes' offense rang up 39 shots on Kingston's net.

Wellington was led by Jan Kaminsky, who scored the team's only goal. Kaminsky scored 15:18 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Kingston. Zach Bishop picked up the assist.

The Voyageurs incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Hayden Lavigne made 25 saves for the Dukes on 30 shots. Wellington incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
