Whitby blows out Lindsay, 6-2Lindsay Recreation Centre Fri, Feb 15, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Whitby Fury were firing on all cylinders against the Lindsay Muskies, and when the final buzzer sounded Fury emerged with a 6-2 win. Jack Lewis had two goals to lead Whitby to victory. Lewis scored on the power play at 16:45 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Whitby and again while on the power play 1:02 into the second to make the score 3-0 Whitby. The Fury forced Lindsay's goalies to work without much rest, getting 34 shots and forcing 28 saves. Tanner Davis made 15 stops and Matt Robson made 13. Whitby bested its season scoring average. This season, the Fury average 3.1 goals per contest. Whitby also got points from Greg Milner, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Taylor Best, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Matt Eddy also scored for Whitby. In addition, Whitby received assists from Matt Davis, who had two and Chris Raguseo, Nick Neal, Henry Thompson, Sam Gray, Connor Laird, and Mike Panowyk, who each chipped in one. The Muskies kept Whitby's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tyler Feaver made 36 saves on 38 shots. Lindsay was helped by Dean Klomp, who racked up one goal and one assist. Klomp scored on the power play 13:13 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Whitby. The Muskies had gotten the advantage when the Fury's Tyler Park was sent off for interference. Dylan Fitze assisted on the tally. Lindsay also got a goal from Louis-David Bourgault as well. More assists for Lindsay came via Patrick Thornton, who had one. Whitby incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Lindsay incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
