Harris lifts Kingston over Lindsay, 3-0INVISTA Center Thu, Feb 14, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Kingston Voyageurs relied on the scoring touch of Ludlow Harris, who netted two goals, to beat the Lindsay Muskies, 3-0. Harris' tallies came on the power play at 6:08 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Kingston and on the power play 19:31 into the second to make the score 2-0 Kingston.Charlie Finn spearheaded the defensive effort for Kingston, as he did not allow a puck past him and made 27 saves for the shutout. Finn certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.15 entering the contest. The Voyageurs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Lindsay to score on any of its four power plays. Kingston's defensive play was more effective than usual against the Muskies. The Voyageurs average 2.4 goals allowed per game. Kingston kept Lindsay's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tanner Davis made 39 saves on 42 shots. The Voyageurs could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game. Kingston also got a goal from Francesco Vilardi as well. In addition, Kingston received assists from Graham Yeo, who had two and Kris Grant, Brian Nanne, and David Quesnele, who each chipped in one. The Muskies racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 14 minors and one major for 73 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 21.0 minutes per game Lindsay had been spending in the box. The Muskies were held below their usual level of production. Lindsay averages 3.5 goals per game. Kingston registered three goals on 14 power play opportunities. For the Muskies, Vince Herlihey and Bryce Sweeting were ejected from the contest.
