The Burlington Cougars used a six-goal second period to put away the Hamilton Red Wings, 12-4.

Brett Coulson had two goals and one assist to lead Burlington. Coulson scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 3:06 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Burlington. The Cougars had gotten the advantage when Hamilton's Niko Porikos was sent off for roughing after whistle. Mike Sones assisted on the tally.
