Buckles' goals lift St. Michaels to 3-1 victory over Toronto Lakeshore

Matt Buckles was all over the ice for the St. Michaels Buzzers, as he tallied two goals in St. Michaels' 3-1 win over the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots.

Buckles scored at 17:45 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Michaels and again while 18:10 into the second to make the score 2-1 St. Michaels.

The Buzzers were led by goalie Adrian Ignagni, who finished with 45 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Ignagni will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.6.

St. Michaels' penalty kill excelled, as the Buzzers gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

St. Michaels stifled Toronto Lakeshore's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Joseph Berton also scored for St. Michaels. More assists for St. Michaels came via Jared Walsh, David Italiano, Jake Evans, Jordan Merante, CJ Shugart, and Patrick McCarron, who each chipped in one.

The Patriots' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three St. Michaels power plays. Toronto Lakeshore could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Patriots average 3.9 goals per game. Toronto Lakeshore forced the Buzzers goalie Ignagni to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots.

The Patriots were led by Kyle Dutra, who scored the team's only goal. Dutra scored 12:14 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Nathan Feric assisted on the tally.

St. Michaels incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Joseph Pianta made 20 saves for Toronto Lakeshore on 23 shots. The Patriots incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
