Orangeville wins tough contest against North York, 4-2

The game between the Orangeville Flyers and the North York Rangers was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Orangeville emerged with a 4-2 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Keegan Ackerland secured the win for the Flyers with a goal in the second period.

Emmerson Small was all over the ice for Orangeville, as he racked up two goals in the win. Small scored at 13:14 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Orangeville and again while 12:08 into the third to make the score 3-1 Orangeville.

More assists for Orangeville came via Mathew Thompson, who had one and Brandon Gaudette, Nicholas Geiser, and Angelpooulos Peter, who contributed two a piece.

North York was held below its usual level of production. The Rangers put an average of 4.3 pucks into the net per game. North York forced the Flyers goalie Bo Bessette to work between the pipes, taking 52 shots.

The Rangers were helped by Corey Kalk, who finished with one goal. Kalk scored on the power play 7:34 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Orangeville. A tripping penalty on Geiser had put North York on the power play. John Carpino provided the assist. North York also got a goal from Franco Loparco as well. In addition, North York received assists from Patrick Piacentini and Liam Kerins, who each chipped in one.

Bessette recorded 50 saves for Orangeville. The Flyers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Rangers' Jason Pucciarelli stopped 21 shots out of the 24 that he faced. North York incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
