St. Michaels downs Hamilton, 8-3

The St. Michaels Buzzers won 8-3 over the Hamilton Red Wings.

St. Michaels kept Hamilton's goalie busy throughout the game, and Bret Gilmore made 46 saves on 54 shots. The Buzzers bested their season scoring average. St. Michaels has scored at the pace of 4.2 goals per game during the current campaign.

The Buzzers were led by Matt Buckles, who grabbed one goal and two assists. Buckles scored 1:50 into the second period to make the score 3-1 St. Michaels. Jake Clements assisted on the tally. St. Michaels additionally got points from Joseph Berton, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Shane Conacher, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Bron Loiselle, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Cody Doiron, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. St. Michaels also had goals scored by Michael Neville, who had one and David Italiano, who had two. In addition, St. Michaels received assists from Jake Evans, Jordan Merante, Patrick McCarron, and Matt Galati, who contributed one a piece and Troy Josephs and CJ Shugart, who each chipped in two.

The Red Wings were led by Troy Crema, who registered one goal and two assists. Crema scored short handed 15:09 into the second period to make the score 3-2 St. Michaels. Hamilton was on a disadvantage when Denis Fontyn went off the ice for tripping. Patrice Fozo picked up the assist. Hamilton also got points from Fozo, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Hamilton also got a goal from Patrick APM Durgy as well. More assists for Hamilton came via Oliver Hyman, Niko Porikos, and Alex LeBrosse, who contributed one a piece.

St. Michaels' starting goalie, George Argiropoulos, made 27 saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Robert Italiano, who stopped zero shots. The Buzzers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Red Wings incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Hamilton ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Braxton Andrews was ejected from the game.
