Georgetown downs Buffalo in overtime, 3-2 (OT)Northtown Feature Mon, Feb 04, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Robbie Murden gave the Georgetown Raiders a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Buffalo Jr. Sabres when he scored 1:40 into the extra period. Jacob Bauchman had a great game for Georgetown, netting two goals. Bauchman's tallies came at 1:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Georgetown and 15:32 into the third to make the score 2-1 Georgetown. The Raiders excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Buffalo was unable to stop Georgetown from sending pucks towards the net, and the Raiders eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. Other players who recorded assists for Georgetown were Drake Hart and Phil Kiss, who each chipped in one and Liam Clare and Alex Botten, who contributed two a piece. The Jr. Sabres were held below their usual level of production. Buffalo puts an average of 4.6 pucks into the net per game. The Jr. Sabres were led by Nathan Pelligra, who tallied one goal and one assist. Pelligra scored 5:06 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Dylan Howatt picked up the assist. Buffalo also got a goal from Ryan Schmelzer as well. In addition, Buffalo received assists from Pat Egan, who had one. Gabe Grunwald recorded 19 saves for Georgetown. The Raiders incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Parker Gahagen made 33 saves for Buffalo on 36 shots. The Jr. Sabres incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
