Toronto Lakeshore beats Burlington 4-0 as Pianta gains shutout

Joseph Pianta was superb between the pipes for the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots, as he did not allow a goal in a 4-0 victory over the Burlington Cougars.

Toronto Lakeshore pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 22 penalty minutes.

The Patriots were sparked by Kyle Dutra, who registered one goal. Dutra scored short handed 1:51 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Toronto Lakeshore. A high sticking call on Daniel Tedesco put Toronto Lakeshore on the penalty kill. Nathan Feric provided the assist.

The Patriots' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on nine Burlington power plays. Toronto Lakeshore was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. The Patriots gives up 2.8 goals on average per game. Toronto Lakeshore's offense rang up 41 shots on Burlington's net.

Dylan Carter also scored for Toronto Lakeshore. More assists for Toronto Lakeshore came via Tyler Enns, Wes Deme, Mike Vallescuro, Alex D Oliveira, and Michael Prapavessis, who each chipped in one.

The Cougars excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Burlington's offense operated below it season average. The Cougars put an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game. Burlington kept the Patriots' goalie busy throughout the game, and Pianta made 42 saves on 42 shots.

Alex Murray rejected 37 shots on goal for the Cougars. Burlington incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
