Toronto Lakeshore's comeback falls short, Mississauga wins 3-2

The Toronto Lakeshore Patriots almost clawed their way back from a three-goal deficit, but the Mississauga Chargers managed to pull out a 3-2 win in the end.

Mississauga led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Chargers' Zackery Landsfield's scored at 19:36 in the first period to put Mississauga up 3-0.

Vince Figliomeni was all over the ice for the Chargers, as he grabbed two goals in the win. Figliomeni's tallies came at 1:48 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mississauga and 17:12 into the first to make the score 2-0 Mississauga.

More assists for Mississauga came via Nick Tetley, who had two and Stefano Alonzi and Cosimo Fontana, who each chipped in one.

Toronto Lakeshore managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Patriots finished below its season average of 13.0 penalty minutes per game. Toronto Lakeshore forced Mississauga goalie Austin Washkurak to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots.

The Patriots were helped by Niko Kovachis, who racked up one goal. Kovachis scored 17:25 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Mississauga. Nathan Feric provided the assist. Dylan Carter also scored for Toronto Lakeshore. Other players who recorded assists for Toronto Lakeshore were Wes Deme, Alex D Oliveira, and Michael Prapavessis, who contributed one a piece.

Washkurak recorded 41 saves for the Chargers. Mississauga incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Jake Danson took the loss and made four saves before being replaced by Joseph Pianta who made 10 saves. Toronto Lakeshore registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
