Georgetown uses shootout to best Orangeville, 4-3 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Georgetown Raiders defeated the Orangeville Flyers in a shootout 4-3 (2-1 SO).

The shootout featured six attempts between both teams. Orangeville's shootout goal was scored by Keegan Ackerland. In addition to the clincher, Georgetown got a shootout goal from Jacob Bauchman.

The Raiders' offense rang up 47 shots on the Flyers' net.

Georgetown was helped by Robbie Murden, who had one goal and one assist. Murden scored 3:01 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Georgetown. Anthony Marra assisted on the tally. Georgetown also got points from Steve Hladin, who also registered one goal and one assist. Georgetown also got a goal from David Miller as well. More assists for Georgetown came via Liam Clare, Brendan Woods, and Phil Kiss, who each chipped in one.

Orangeville's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Gabe Grunwald recorded 27 saves for the Raiders. Georgetown incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Flyers' Taylor Welsh stopped 43 shots out of the 46 that he faced. Orangeville incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
