Hogg's hat trick boosts Cobourg over Pickering, 5-3Pickering Recreation Complex Fri, Feb 01, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Conner Hogg netted a hat trick to lead the Cobourg Cougars over the Pickering Panthers, 5-3. Hogg notched his first tally 1:33 into the third period. He then added goals at 6:25 into the third and at 18:29 into the third.Cobourg excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Cougars forced Pickering goalie J P Cesario to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots. Cobourg additionally got points from Justin Danforth, who also registered one goal and two assists and Connor Armour, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, Cobourg received assists from Theo Lewis, who had one. The Panthers were led by Andrew McCann, who grabbed two goals. McCann scored the first of his two goals at 8:38 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Pickering. John Woolsey assisted on the tally. McCann's next tally made the score 4-3 Cobourg with 9:41 left in the third period. Wil Pointon picked up the assist. Nicholas Lepone also scored for Pickering. Other players who recorded assists for Pickering were Josh Herrington, Michael Montford, and Micah Nichols, who contributed one a piece. CJ Sharp made 20 saves for Cobourg on 23 shots. The Cougars incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. P Cesario rejected 44 shots on goal for Pickering. The Panthers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
