Lindsay uses shootout to best Trenton, 4-3 (3-2 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Lindsay Muskies defeated the Trenton Golden Hawks in a shootout 4-3 (3-2 SO).

The two teams needed 18 turns to complete the shootout. Trenton's shootout goals were scored by Sammy Banga and Krystian Yorke. In addition to the clincher, Lindsay got shootout goals from Felix Chamberland and Louis-David Bourgault.

The Muskies overcame a one-goal deficit to capture the victory. Lindsay trailed 3-2 after a goal by the Golden Hawks' Brady Wiffen at 6:05 in the third period. The Muskies tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Dean Klomp at 13:48 in the third period.

Lindsay got the win on the strength of a great game by Klomp, who had one goal and two assists.

The Muskies' offense rang up 36 shots on Trenton's net.

Lindsay also got a goal from Cole Murduff as well. Other players who recorded assists for Lindsay were Bourgault, who had two and William Pelletier and Corey Jackson, who contributed one a piece.

The Golden Hawks kept Lindsay's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tanner Davis made 35 saves on 38 shots. Trenton found itself short handed often, totaling 18 penalty minutes and allowing eight power plays.

Loren Ulett also scored for Trenton. In addition, Trenton received assists from Yorke, who had three and Erlich Doerksen, Robbie Hall, and Dillon Warner, who each chipped in one.

The Muskies incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Golden Hawks' Victor Adamo stopped 32 shots out of the 35 that he faced. Trenton registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
