Kingston rips Pickering, 7-2INVISTA Center Thu, Jan 31, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Kingston Voyageurs had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-2 win over the Pickering Panthers. Pickering's power play was ineffective against Kingston's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. The Voyageurs were sparked by David Quesnele, who finished with one goal. Quesnele scored 19:35 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Kingston. Brandon O Quinn picked up the assist. Kingston put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Panthers to score on any of their six power plays. The Voyageurs forced Pickering goalie Conor Barrie to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots. Kingston outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Voyageurs average 2.9 goals per contest. Kingston additionally got points from Francesco Vilardi, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Brian Nanne, who also had one goal and one assist, and Michael Schug, who also registered one goal and one assist. Kingston also got a goal from Chad Duchesne as well. More assists for Kingston came via Kris Grant, who had two, Ludlow Harris, who had three, and Aidan Wright, Dylan Hutton, Jarret Kup, and Michael Casale, who each chipped in one. The Panthers were helped by Micah Nichols, who racked up one goal. Nichols scored 14:15 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Kingston. Mark Tenuta assisted on the tally. Nicholas Lepone also scored for Pickering. Other players who recorded assists for Pickering were Aidan Wallace, John Woolsey, and Brodie Tutton, who contributed one a piece. Kingston's Colin Dzijacky stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. The Voyageurs incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Conor Barrie made 35 saves for Pickering on 42 shots. The Panthers incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
