Kingston holds on for 4-3 win against AuroraAurora Community Centre Fri, Nov 23, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Aurora Tigers tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Kingston Voyageurs held on for a 4-3 victory. Kingston made the score 4-2 on a goal by Brian Nanne at 13:18 in the third period, and Aurora got as close as 4-3 when Curtis Warren APJ scored 16:05 into the third period. The Tigers' power play was ineffective against the Voyageurs' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Kingston excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Kingston also got points from Chad Duchesne, who also had one goal and one assist and Alex Tonge, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Kingston also got a goal from Scott Mossman as well. More assists for Kingston came via Francesco Vilardi, Graham Yeo, and Brandon O Quinn, who contributed one a piece. Aurora forced the Voyageurs goalie Charlie Finn to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. The Tigers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game. Aurora was helped by Kory Kennedy, who registered one goal. Kennedy scored 11:37 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Daniel Clairmont assisted on the tally. Taylor McCloy also scored for Aurora. In addition, Aurora received assists from Michael Keenan, Kyle Liu, and Adam DiBrina, who each chipped in one. Kingston's Finn stopped 34 shots out of the 37 that he faced. The Voyageurs incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Kevin Entmaa made 21 saves for the Tigers on 25 shots. For Aurora, Keenan was ejected from the game.
