Kingston survives Cobourg comeback, wins 3-2

The Cobourg Cougars tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Kingston Voyageurs held on for a 3-2 victory.

Kingston took a 3-0 lead during the third period, only to have Cobourg storm back on a Evan Jasper goal 16:56 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Voyageurs' offense rang up 31 shots on the Cougars' net.

Kingston was led by Ludlow Harris, who finished with one goal and one assist. Harris scored 6:01 into the third period to make the score Kingston. Graham Yeo picked up the assist. Kingston additionally got points from Michael Schug, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Kingston also got a goal from Michael Casale as well. More assists for Kingston came via Chad Duchesne, Aidan Wright, and David Quesnele, who each chipped in one.

Cobourg kept the Voyageurs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Charlie Finn made 36 saves on 38 shots.

The Cougars were helped by Mark MacAulay, who racked up one goal. MacAulay scored 11:31 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Kingston. Matt Martin assisted on the tally. In addition, Cobourg received assists from Rylee McKinnon, Colbie Andrews, and Corey Helliwell, who contributed one a piece.

Kingston incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Nathan Perry rejected 28 shots on goal for Cobourg. The Cougars incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
