Trenton survives penalties, beats Pickering, 6-2Duncan Memorial Sun, Jan 27, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Despite having to fight off several power plays, the Trenton Golden Hawks were able to defeat the Pickering Panthers, 6-2. Trenton was paced by Robbie Hall, who registered one goal and one assist. Hall scored 11:26 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Trenton. Greg Trichilo picked up the assist. The Golden Hawks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Pickering power plays. Trenton's offense rang up 36 shots on Pickering's net. The Golden Hawks bested their season scoring average. This season, Trenton averages 3.8 goals per contest. The Golden Hawks' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Jordan Minello also scored for Trenton. More assists for Trenton came via Mark Luzar, Erlich Doerksen, Mike Nedoszytko, Loren Ulett, Alex Leader, and Nick Marinac, who each chipped in one and Josh Timpano and Ori Abramson, who contributed two a piece. The Panthers were helped by Mark Tenuta, who finished with one goal. Tenuta scored 3:58 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Jeff Heard assisted on the tally. Andrew Winsor recorded 15 saves for Trenton. The Golden Hawks incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. J P Cesario rejected 30 shots on goal for Pickering. The Panthers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
