The Georgetown Raiders beat the St. Michaels Buzzers, 4-2, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout. Georgetown took over the lead for good with a goal by Steve Hladin at 15:48 in the first period. Brendan Woods assisted on the tally.Hladin had a great game for the Raiders, netting two goals. Georgetown's penalty kill excelled, as the Raiders gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 17:06 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Georgetown forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 10 minors and two majors for 40 minutes in penalty time. The Raiders had been averaging 22.0 minutes in penalties per game. Georgetown's offense rang up 48 shots on St. Michaels' net.
