The game between the Aurora Tigers and the Stouffville Spirit was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Aurora emerged with a 4-2 win.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Robert Angiolella's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

The Tigers were sparked by Angiolella, who registered one goal. Angiolella scored on the power play 5:01 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Aurora. Aurora had gained a power play chance when Justin Wain was whistled for slashing. Daniel Clairmont assisted on the tally.

The Tigers forced Spirit's goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, racking up 36 shots and forcing 32 saves. Daniel Mannella made 24 stops and Braydon Banitsiotis made eight. Aurora's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Stouffville power plays.

Aurora additionally got points from Dylan Sikura, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Aurora also got a goal from Zack MacArthur as well. In addition, Aurora received assists from Tanner Shaw and Kory Kennedy, who each chipped in one and Taylor McCloy and Daniel Lisi, who contributed two a piece.

Stouffville could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Spirit were helped by Matthew Dunlop, who had one goal. Dunlop scored 10:50 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Stefan vonEngelbrechten provided the assist. Michael Morgan also scored for Stouffville. More assists for Stouffville came via Peyton Backus and Mackenzie Wood, who each chipped in one.

The Tigers took out Brett Sinclair after he had made 12 saves and installed Kevin Entmaa in goal, where he finished with eight saves and the win. Aurora incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. For the Tigers, Kennedy was ejected from the game.
