St. Michaels holds on for 4-2 win against Mississauga

The St. Michaels Buzzers survived a determined comeback attempt by the Mississauga Chargers on the way to a 4-2 win.

St. Michaels took a 4-1 lead during the third period, only to have Mississauga storm back on a Lucas Venuto goal 4:00 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

The Buzzers got the win with help from a great game by Troy Josephs, who had two goals and one assist. Josephs scored the first of his two goals at 9:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Michaels. Greg Allen provided the assist. Josephs' next tally made the score 3-1 St. Michaels with 2:57 left in the second period. St. Michaels found itself down a man on Jordan Schneider's abuse of officials.

The Buzzers' offense rang up 31 shots on the Chargers' net. St. Michaels could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game.

St. Michaels additionally got points from Stephen Pietrobon, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Matt Buckles also scored for St. Michaels. More assists for St. Michaels came via Michael Neville, Jake Evans, and Adrian Ignagni, who each chipped in one.

Mississauga could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game.

In addition, Mississauga received assists from Trevor Warnaar and A Valente, who contributed one a piece.

The Buzzers' Ignagni stopped 23 shots out of the 25 that he faced. St. Michaels registered one goal on four power play opportunities. For the Buzzers, Schneider was ejected from the game. Austin Washkurak recorded 27 saves for the Chargers. Mississauga registered one goal on seven power play opportunities.
