Milton downs Toronto in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Milton Icehawks pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Toronto Junior Canadiens on a clutch goal by Shane Bennett.

Bennett was all over the ice for Milton, as he racked up two goals in the win. Bennett found the back of the net on the power play 15:50 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Milton and again while on the power play 1:29 into the fourth to make the score 4-3 Milton.

The Icehawks pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 22 penalty minutes.

Milton excelled on the penalty kill, only allowing Toronto to get one power play goal on 11 chances.

Milton additionally got points from Austin Kosack, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Michael Capicotto, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Milton were Kane Elliot, Bryce Abraham, Daniel Holt, and Daniel Poutscongas, who contributed one a piece.

The Junior Canadiens forced Icehawks' netminders to work between the pipes, ripping 51 shots and forcing 48 saves. Benjamin Blacker(APMM) made 46 stops and Braden Mann made two.

Toronto was helped by Jordan Carvalho, who had one goal. Carvalho scored 13:09 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Anthony Repaci assisted on the tally. Dalton APM Hnatko also scored for Toronto. In addition, Toronto received assists from Aaron Spivak, Robert Cammalleri, Nicholas Jarzabek, and Joseph Santino, who each chipped in one.

The Icehawks registered three goals on seven power play opportunities. Denny Dubblestyne made 23 saves for the Junior Canadiens on 27 shots. Toronto incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
