Kingston beats Whitby 3-0 as Finn gains shutout

Charlie Finn was superb between the pipes for the Kingston Voyageurs, as he did not allow a goal in a 3-0 victory over the Whitby Fury.

Kingston was sparked by Chad Duchesne, who grabbed one goal. Duchesne scored 6:49 into the third period to make the score 1-0 Kingston. Brandon O Quinn picked up the assist.

The Voyageurs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Whitby power plays. Kingston was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. The Voyageurs average 2.5 goals allowed per game. Kingston kept Whitby's goalie busy throughout the game, and Josh Hickey made 32 saves on 35 shots.

Kingston additionally got points from O Quinn, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Kingston also got a goal from Ludlow Harris as well. More assists for Kingston came via Brian Nanne, Michael Schug, David Quesnele, and Brett Du Puy, who each chipped in one.

The Fury excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Whitby did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Fury average 3.1 goals per game. Whitby's offense rang up 36 shots on the Voyageurs' net.

Finn recorded 36 saves for Kingston. The Voyageurs incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Fury incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
