Danforth leads Cobourg over Lindsay, 4-1

Justin Danforth had two goals and one assist to lead the Cobourg Cougars to a 4-1 victory over the Lindsay Muskies.

Danforth scored on the power play at 13:56 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Cobourg and again while 19:58 into the second to make the score 3-1 Cobourg.

Lindsay was stymied by Cobourg netminder Nathan Perry, who stopped 33 shots during the victory. Perry managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.54 prior to the game.

The Cougars kept the Muskies' goalie busy throughout the game, and Tanner Davis made 33 saves on 37 shots.

Cobourg additionally got points from Evan Jasper, who also finished with two goals and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Cobourg were Cody Mintz, Theo Lewis, Conner Hogg, Connor Armour, and Taylor Gauld, who contributed one a piece.

Lindsay was held below its usual level of production. The Muskies average 3.6 goals per game. Lindsay's offense rang up 34 shots on Cobourg's net.

The Muskies were led by Dean Klomp, who scored the team's only goal. Klomp scored 2:16 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Lindsay. Vince Herlihey picked up the assist.

The Cougars incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Lindsay incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
