Botten's hat trick boosts Georgetown over Burlington, 6-2

A hat trick by Alex Botten was the highlight in Raiders' 6-2 win against the Burlington Cougars.

Botten's first goal came 7:41 into the first period. He then added goals at 17:43 into the second and at 2:42 into the third.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 16:49 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

The the Georgetown Raiders penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled six minors and two majors for 32 minutes in penalty time. Georgetown had been averaging 22.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Raiders' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Burlington power plays. Georgetown's offense rang up 43 shots on Burlington's net. The Raiders found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Georgetown averages 3.9 goals per contest.

Georgetown additionally got points from Jacob Bauchman, who also registered one goal and one assist. Georgetown also got a goal from Anthony Marra as well. Other players who recorded assists for Georgetown were Tyler McCarthy, Steve Hladin, Scott Emerson, Brendan Woods, Alex Adams, and Nick Perruccio, who contributed one a piece and Darren Raddysh and Brendan Jacome, who each chipped in two.

The Cougars were helped by Cooper Richards, who had one goal. Richards scored 14:55 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Georgetown. Jeremy Gottzmann assisted on the tally. Steven Mueller also scored for Burlington. In addition, Burlington received assists from Ellery O Hara and Luke Sinclair, who contributed one a piece.

Keegan Wilson made 20 saves for the Raiders on 22 shots. Georgetown registered zero goals on one power play opportunities. For the Raiders, Perruccio and Richard Court were ejected from the contest. Brock Novak rejected 37 shots on goal for Burlington. The Cougars ended with 26 minutes in penalty time with three minors and two majors. Team's Jonathon Kries and Tyler Lepore were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
