McCloy leads Aurora over Pickering, 5-1

Behind a great game by Taylor McCloy, who had one goal and two assists, the Aurora Tigers defeated the Pickering Panthers, 5-1.

McCloy beat J P Cesario with a shot 17:16 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Aurora. Adam DiBrina picked up the assist. McCloy dished an assist on Justin Nice's goal that made the score 3-1 Aurora at 3:26 into the third period. He added another helper on Dylan Sikura's goal that made the score 5-1 Aurora at 14:18 into the third period.

Aurora's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Pickering power plays. The Tigers' offense rang up 45 shots on Pickering's net.

Aurora additionally got points from Nice, who also registered one goal and one assist. Aurora also got a goal from Robert Angiolella as well. In addition, Aurora received assists from Adam Moody, who had one and Kory Kennedy and Daniel Lisi, who each chipped in two.

The Panthers stifled Aurora's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Pickering was led by Alex Clements, who scored the team's only goal. Clements scored 2:10 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Aurora. Tanner Bull assisted on the tally.

Brett Sinclair took the win and made 19 saves before being replaced by Kevin Entmaa who made zero saves. The Tigers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. P Cesario recorded 40 saves for the Panthers. Pickering incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Panthers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Andrew McCann was ejected from the game.
