Warnaar's goals lift Mississauga to 5-2 victory over MiltonMilton Memorial Arena Fri, Jan 18, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Trevor Warnaar was all over the ice for the Mississauga Chargers, as he tallied two goals in Mississauga's 5-2 win over the Milton Icehawks. Warnaar found the back of the net on the power play 13:00 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Milton and again while 15:05 into the second to make the score 2-2.The Chargers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Milton to score on any of its four power plays. Mississauga also got points from Matthew Hore, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Vince Figliomeni, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Cosimo Fontana also scored for Mississauga. More assists for Mississauga came via Ryan Hunter, who had two and Zackery Landsfield, Nick Tetley, and Ross Sloan, who contributed one a piece. The Icehawks forced Mississauga goalie Austin Washkurak to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. Milton's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Icehawks finished with 44 penalty minutes. Milton was helped by Brad Kobryn, who tallied one goal. Kobryn scored 11:10 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Milton. Austin Kosack provided the assist. Milton also got a goal from Jonathon Buttitta as well. In addition, Milton received assists from Bryce Abraham, Jeremy Laing, and Tye Campbell, who each chipped in one. Washkurak rejected 39 shots on goal for the Chargers. Mississauga incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Icehawks' Daniel Plater stopped 21 shots out of the 25 that he faced. For Milton, Michael Capicotto was ejected from the game.
