Finn leads Kingston to shutout victory over TrentonINVISTA Center Thu, Jan 17, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Charlie Finn recorded a shutout against the Trenton Golden Hawks as the Kingston Voyageurs picked up a 5-0 win. Kingston was led by Graham Yeo, who racked up one goal. Yeo scored on the power play 14:11 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kingston. The Voyageurs had gotten the advantage when Trenton's Krystian Yorke was sent off for hooking. Aidan Wright assisted on the tally. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 12:23 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Kingston's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Trenton power plays. The Voyageurs' defensive effort looked to be improved. Kingston averages 2.6 goals allowed per game. The Voyageurs forced the Golden Hawks goalie Victor Adamo to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. Kingston bested its season scoring average. The Voyageurs have scored at the pace of 2.9 goals per game during the current campaign. Brian Nanne also scored for Kingston. In addition, Kingston received assists from Kris Grant, who had one and Brandon O Quinn and David Quesnele, who contributed two a piece. The Trenton penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled five minors and two majors for 20 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 16.0 minutes per game the Golden Hawks had been spending in the box. Trenton could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Golden Hawks average 3.8 goals per game. Trenton's offense rang up 38 shots on Kingston's net. The Golden Hawks' defense was uncharacteristically lax during the game. Trenton averages 2.4 goals allowed per game.
