Wellington rides Larose to victory over Cobourg, 4-1

A stellar performance between the pipes by Matt Larose helped the Wellington Dukes defeat the Cobourg Cougars, 4-1.

Craig Campbell had two goals to lead Wellington to victory. Campbell's tallies came at 9:16 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Wellington and 15:54 into the second to make the score 3-0 Wellington.

Wellington also got a goal from Abbot Girduckis as well. In addition, Wellington received assists from Kyle Paat, who had two and Jacob Hetherington, Parker Wood, Josh Finkelstein, Mike Soucier, Erick Delaurentis, and Austin Broadhurst, who contributed one a piece.

Cobourg did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Cougars put an average of 3.1 pucks into the net per game.

Cobourg was led by Jake Emilio, who scored the team's only goal. Emilio scored 11:12 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Wellington.

Matt Larose made 28 saves for the Dukes on 29 shots. Wellington finished the contest with no penalties and went 0-for-0 with the man advantage. Nathan Perry took the loss and made 16 saves before being replaced by CJ Sharp who made 10 saves. The Cougars ended with no penalties and went 0-for-0 on the power play.
