Dzijacky leads Kingston to shutout victory over Stouffville

Colin Dzijacky recorded a shutout against the Stouffville Spirit as the Kingston Voyageurs picked up a 4-0 win.

Stouffville's power play was ineffective against Kingston's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Voyageurs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Spirit to score on any of their six power plays. Kingston's defensive play was more effective than usual against Stouffville. The Voyageurs gives up 2.6 goals on average per game. Kingston forced the Spirit goalie Daniel Mannella to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

The Voyageurs were helped by Brian Nanne, who tallied one goal. Nanne scored 13:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kingston. Ludlow Harris picked up the assist. Others who scored for Kingston included Michael Casale, who had one and Dylan Hutton, who had two. Other players who recorded assists for Kingston were Chad Duchesne, Aidan Wright, Kris Grant, Brandon O Quinn, Andrew Fullerton, David Quesnele, and Brett Du Puy, who contributed one a piece.

Stouffville's offense operated below it season average. The Spirit put an average of 2.8 pucks into the net per game. Kingston was unable to stop Stouffville from sending pucks towards the net, and the Spirit eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. Stouffville could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Voyageurs' Dzijacky stopped 32 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Kingston incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Mannella rejected 32 shots on goal for the Spirit.
