Mississauga squeaks by Toronto, 4-2

The game between the Mississauga Chargers and the Toronto Junior Canadiens was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Mississauga emerged with a 4-2 win.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Lucas Venuto at 14:15 of the third period.

Toronto's power play was ineffective against the Chargers' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Mississauga was paced by Venuto, who had one goal and one assist.

The Chargers kept the Junior Canadiens' goalie busy throughout the game, and Denny Dubblestyne made 34 saves on 38 shots.

Mississauga also got a goal from Matthew Hore as well. More assists for Mississauga came via Ryan Hunter, who had two and Trevor Warnaar, Cosimo Fontana, and Vince Figliomeni, who each chipped in one.

Toronto excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Junior Canadiens forced Mississauga goalie Austin Washkurak to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

Toronto was helped by Robert Cammalleri, who racked up one goal. Cammalleri scored 5:32 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Travis Hill assisted on the tally. Aaron Thow also scored for Toronto. In addition, Toronto received assists from Derek Perl, who had one.

Austin Washkurak made 33 saves for the Chargers on 35 shots. Mississauga incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Chargers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Figliomeni was ejected from the game. The Junior Canadiens incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
