Georgetown wins tough contest against North York, 5-3

The game between the Georgetown Raiders and the North York Rangers was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Georgetown emerged with a 5-3 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Robbie Murden secured the win for the Raiders with a goal in the third period.

Georgetown was led by Nick Perruccio, who registered two goals. Perruccio scored the first of his two goals at 13:38 into the second period to make the score 3-2 North York. Alex Botten provided the assist. Perruccio's next tally made the score 5-3 Georgetown with 14:54 left in the third period. Botten assisted on the tally. Brendan Woods also scored for Georgetown. Other players who recorded assists for Georgetown were Tyler McCarthy, Anthony Marra, and Richard Court, who contributed one a piece and Tyler MacPherson and Jacob Bauchman, who each chipped in two.

North York excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Raiders were unable to stop the Rangers from sending pucks towards the net, and North York eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

The Rangers were helped by Taylor Pryce, who tallied two goals. Pryce scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 13:50 into the first period to make the score 1-1. North York had taken the advantage when Georgetown's Murden got sent off for handling the puck. Ryan Kinsella provided the assist. Pryce's next tally on the power play made the score 3-1 North York with 15:31 left in the second period. The Rangers had gotten the advantage when the Raiders' Santino Centorame was sent off for hooking. Chris Aitcheson picked up the assist. North York additionally got points from Franco Loparco, who also racked up one goal and one assist. In addition, North York received assists from Liam Kerins and John Carpino, who contributed one a piece.

Gabe Grunwald made 32 saves for Georgetown on 35 shots. The Raiders incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. North York's Keogh Jacob stopped 25 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Rangers incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
