North York downs Oakville, 6-3

Chris Aitcheson racked up two points to lead the North York Rangers to a 6-3 victory over the Oakville Blades.

North York forced Blades' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, getting 43 shots and forcing 37 saves. Evan Buitenhuis made 31 stops and Spencer Bacon made six.

North York additionally got points from John Carpino, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for North York included Liam Kerins, who had two and Galli Austin and Fung Zachary, who scored one goal each. In addition, North York received assists from Lapierre Charles and Matthew Whittaker, who each chipped in one and Corey Kalk, Nicholas Geiser, and Scott Maguire, who contributed two a piece.

Oakville's offense rang up 47 shots on the Rangers' net. The Blades' defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. Oakville averages 2.5 goals allowed per game.

The Blades were helped by Kyle Jenkins, who tallied one goal. Jenkins scored on the power play 13:19 into the first period to make the score 3-1 North York. A cross checking penalty on Aitcheson had put Oakville on the power play. Jonah Renouf provided the assist. Oakville also got a goal from Zach Berg as well. More assists for Oakville came via Eli Berg, Nathan Renouf, Eric Chore, and Stefan Leblanc, who each chipped in one.

Keogh Jacob rejected 44 shots on goal for North York. The Rangers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Blades incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
