St. Michaels rolls over Hamilton, 6-1Mountain Arena Mon, Jan 07, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The St. Michaels Buzzers were firing on all cylinders against the Hamilton Red Wings, and when the final buzzer sounded Buzzers emerged with a 6-1 win. St. Michaels was led by goalie George Argiropoulos, who finished with 25 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Argiropoulos will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 3.13. CJ Shugart had two goals and one assist to lead the Buzzers. Shugart scored the first of his two goals at 2:27 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Michaels. Joseph Berton assisted on the tally. Shugart's next tally made the score 5-0 St. Michaels with 32 seconds left in the second period. Jake Evans provided the assist. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 3:14 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. St. Michaels stifled Hamilton's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Buzzers kept the Red Wings' goalie busy throughout the game, and Allen Avery made 46 saves on 52 shots. St. Michaels also got points from David Italiano, who also had one goal and one assist, Evans, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Matt Buckles, who also registered one goal and one assist. St. Michaels also got a goal from Tom Haley as well. In addition, St. Michaels received assists from Marco Ferraro, Michael Neville, and Jordan Merante, who contributed one a piece and Greg Allen and Patrick McCarron, who each chipped in two. Hamilton did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Red Wings put an average of 3.1 pucks into the net per game. St. Michaels totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. For the Buzzers, Bron Loiselle was ejected from the game. Hamilton totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-4 on the power play. The Red Wings ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Braxton Andrews was ejected from the game.
