The St. Michaels Buzzers tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Oakville Blades held on for a 3-2 victory. Oakville made the score 3-0 on a goal by Patrick Chore at 13:49 in the first period, and St. Michaels got as close as 3-2 when Jared Walsh scored 9:21 into the third period. The Blades found themselves short handed often, totaling 20 penalty minutes and allowing nine power plays. Oakville was helped by Kyle Jenkins, who racked up one goal. Jenkins scored on the power play 1:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Oakville. The Blades had gained a power play chance when Ian Edmondson was whistled for interference. Kris Bennet provided the assist. Oakville also got points from Jonah Renouf, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Chore, who also finished with one goal and one assist. More assists for Oakville came via Nathan Renouf, who had two. The Buzzers could not produce up to they normal offensive output. St. Michaels puts an average of 4.3 pucks into the net per game. Oakville's Buitenhuis stopped 46 shots out of the 48 that he faced. The Blades registered two goals on four power play opportunities. Oakville ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Matt Alvaro was ejected from the game. Adrian Ignagni recorded 22 saves for St. Michaels. The Buzzers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
