GAME RECAP

Davis stymies Wellington, Lindsay wins 2-1

Lindsay Recreation Centre    Fri, Jan 04, 2013

The Lindsay Muskies relied on the sparkling performance of Tanner Davis in net to grab a 2-1 win against the Wellington Dukes.

Lindsay was paced by Jake Taylor, who tallied one goal. Taylor scored 18:12 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Lindsay. Louis-David Bourgault assisted on the tally.

The Muskies kept Wellington's goalie busy throughout the game, and Matt Larose made 38 saves on 40 shots.

Tyler Donaldson also scored for Lindsay. In addition, Lindsay received assists from Bryan Hignett and Felix Chamberland, who contributed one a piece.

The Dukes put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Lindsay to score on any of its three power plays. The Muskies were unable to stop Wellington from sending pucks towards the net, and the Dukes eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Wellington was led by Erick Delaurentis, who scored the team's only goal. Delaurentis scored 10:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wellington. Mike Soucier picked up the assist.

Davis rejected 36 shots on goal for Lindsay. The Muskies incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Dukes incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
