The St. Michaels Buzzers were firing on all cylinders against the Burlington Cougars, and when the final buzzer sounded Buzzers emerged with a 5-1 win. Matt Buckles had two goals and one assist to lead St. Michaels. Buckles scored the first of his two goals at 16 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Michaels. David Italiano picked up the assist. Buckles' next tally made the score 4-1 St. Michaels with 16:55 left in the third period. Michael Neville provided the assist. The Buzzers were led by goalie Adrian Ignagni, who finished with 30 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Ignagni will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.78. St. Michaels forced Burlington goalie Alex Murray to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. St. Michaels additionally got points from Neville, who also finished with one goal and one assist. St. Michaels also got a goal from Stephen Pietrobon as well. More assists for St. Michaels came via Mike Lansdowne, Ian Edmondson, Troy Josephs, and Patrick McCarron, who each chipped in one. The Cougars were held below their usual level of production. Burlington puts an average of 3.7 pucks into the net per game. The Cougars' offense rang up 31 shots on the Buzzers' net. Burlington was led by Daniel Campbell, who scored the team's only goal. Campbell scored 2:09 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Alex Landry picked up the assist. St. Michaels totaled seven minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. For the Buzzers, Tom Haley was ejected from the game. Murray recorded 34 saves for the Cougars. Burlington totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play. The Cougars ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jonathon Kries was ejected from the game.
