Bonar's big game bests Orangeville in 5-1 Toronto Lakeshore win

The Toronto Lakeshore Patriots' Doug Bonar had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 5-1 win over the Orangeville Flyers.

Bonar scored at 6:38 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Toronto Lakeshore and again while 15:43 into the third to make the score 5-1 Toronto Lakeshore.

Toronto Lakeshore excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Patriots' offense rang up 39 shots on Orangeville's net.

Toronto Lakeshore also got points from Daniel Tedesco, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Kyle Dutra, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Toronto Lakeshore also got a goal from Alex D Oliveira as well. More assists for Toronto Lakeshore came via Niko Kovachis, Nathan Feric, Brody Heleno, and Michael Apreda, who contributed one a piece.

The Flyers' offense operated below they season average. Orangeville averages 3.2 goals per game.

The Flyers were led by Michael APJ Darrigo, who scored the team's only goal. APJ Darrigo scored 2:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Orangeville. Peter Stepanis picked up the assist.

Toronto Lakeshore's Joseph Pianta stopped 20 shots out of the 21 that he faced. The Patriots incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Taylor Welsh made 34 saves for Orangeville on 39 shots. The Flyers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
