Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Toronto Junior Canadiens defeated the North York Rangers in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO). The shootout lasted for five attempts between the teams.Toronto was paced by Joseph Santino, who racked up one goal. Santino scored 2:34 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Toronto. Travis Hill provided the assist. In a losing effort, North York was led by Liam Kerins, who had one goal and two assists. Kerins scored on the power play 12:12 into the third period to make the score 3-3. The Rangers had taken the advantage when the Junior Canadiens' Gregory Di Tomaso got sent off for slashing. Corey Kalk picked up the assist. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 18:56 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Toronto made North York's goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, totaling 47 shots and forcing 43 saves. Andrew Cippolone made 32 stops and Keogh Jacob made 11. Toronto also got a goal from Danny Liscio as well. Other players who recorded assists for Toronto were Daniel Lombardi, Dalton APM Hnatko, and Anthony Repaci, who each chipped in one. The Rangers forced the Junior Canadiens' goaltenders to work between the pipes, getting 42 shots and forcing 39 saves. Denny Dubblestyne made 30 stops and Nathan Colitto made nine. North York put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Toronto to score on any of its three power plays. North York additionally got points from Kalk, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Valadao Adam also scored for North York. In addition, North York received assists from Patrick Piacentini and John Carpino, who contributed one a piece. The Junior Canadiens ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. For Toronto, Cody Thompson was ejected from the game. The Rangers totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 2-for-5 on the power play. North York ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Chris Aitcheson was ejected from the game.
