Whitby holds on for 3-2 win against Lindsay

The Lindsay Muskies tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Whitby Fury would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2.

A goal by Henry Thompson put Whitby up 3-0 in the second period, but Lindsay pulled to within one on Louis-David Bourgault's tally 7:57 into the third period.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 4:18 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with three game misconducts.

The Fury were helped by Matt Davis, who racked up one goal. Davis scored 6:43 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Whitby. Jack Lewis picked up the assist. Whitby also got a goal from Kevin Stevens as well. More assists for Whitby came via Tyler Park, Sam Gray, and Greg Milner, who contributed one a piece.

The Muskies forced Whitby's netminders to work in net, getting 41 shots and forcing 39 saves. Tyler Feaver made 39 stops and Josh Hickey made zero.

Cole Murduff also scored for Lindsay. Other players who recorded assists for Lindsay were Felix Chamberland, who had one and Jake Taylor, who had two.

The Fury totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. For Whitby, Nick Neal and Milner were ejected from the contest. Tanner Davis recorded 20 saves for Lindsay. The Muskies totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Team's Patrick Hamilton and Dylan Fitze were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
