Aurora rips Whitby, 5-2Iroquois - Rink#1 Sun, Dec 23, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Aurora Tigers were firing on all cylinders against the Whitby Fury, and when the final buzzer sounded Tigers emerged with a 5-2 win. Aurora was paced by Kory Kennedy, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Kennedy scored on the power play 18:46 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Aurora. The Tigers earned a power play opportunity when Sean Deroch was put in the box for interference. Robert Angiolella picked up the assist. Aurora stifled Whitby's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Tigers forced the Fury goalie Tyler Feaver to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. Aurora also got points from Adam Moody, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Angiolella, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Aurora also got a goal from Adam DiBrina as well. Other players who recorded assists for Aurora were Daniel Clairmont, who had two and Tyler Shaw, Jordan Brown, Dylan Sikura, and Daniel Lisi, who contributed one a piece. Whitby kept Aurora's goalie busy throughout the game, and Kevin Entmaa made 29 saves on 31 shots. The Fury struggled on the penalty kill, allowing the Tigers to score three power play goals on three chances. Whitby was led by Nick Neal, who registered one goal and one assist. Neal scored 12:40 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Aurora. Henry Thompson assisted on the tally. Tyler Park also scored for Whitby. Aurora incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Feaver rejected 34 shots on goal for the Fury. Whitby incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
