Brandon Francisco had one point to lead the Newmarket Hurricanes to a 7-2 victory over the Pickering Panthers. Newmarket put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Pickering to score on any of its three power plays. The Panthers were unable to stop the Hurricanes from sending pucks towards the net, and Newmarket eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. The Hurricanes outdid their season average for goals scored.
