Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Kingston Voyageurs defeated the Aurora Tigers in a shootout 3-2 (2-1 SO). The two teams needed eight turns to complete the shootout. Aurora got a shootout goal from Dylan Wallace. In addition to the clincher, Kingston got a shootout goal from Francesco Vilardi.The Voyageurs forced the Tigers goalie Brett Sinclair to work between the pipes, taking 51 shots. Kingston was helped by Michael Casale, who tallied one goal. Casale scored 13:16 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Brett Du Puy picked up the assist. Kingston also got a goal from Michael Schug as well. In addition, Kingston received assists from Kris Grant, David Quesnele, and Ludlow Harris, who contributed one a piece. Aurora's offense rang up 48 shots on the Voyageurs' net. The Tigers did not rack up many penalties in the contest, finishing with only one minor for 12 minutes in penalty time. Aurora was helped by Adam DiBrina, who had one goal and one assist. DiBrina scored 16:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Aurora. Daniel Clairmont assisted on the tally. Aurora also got points from Clairmont, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Aurora were Adam Moody, who had two. Colin Dzijacky rejected 46 shots on goal for Kingston. The Voyageurs incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Sinclair recorded 48 saves for the Tigers. Aurora registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
