Lindsay's Fitze deadly on offense in 3-0 win against WellingtonLindsay Recreation Centre Tue, Dec 18, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Dylan Fitze had two goals to lead the Lindsay Muskies to a 3-0 victory over the Wellington Dukes. Fitze scored on the power play at 27 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lindsay and again while 17:49 into the first to make the score 2-0 Lindsay.Tanner Davis frustrated Wellington's offense all game, and stopped 44 shots en route to a shutout. Davis certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.11 entering the contest. Lindsay pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 12 penalty minutes. The Muskies' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Wellington power plays. Lindsay also got points from Dean Klomp, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Lindsay received assists from Corey Jackson, who had two and Cole Murduff, Vince Herlihey, and Bryan Hignett, who each chipped in one. The Dukes could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Wellington puts an average of 2.8 pucks into the net per game. Lindsay was unable to stop the Dukes from sending pucks towards the net, and Wellington eventually piled up 44 shots on goal. The Muskies registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Matt Larose made 24 saves for the Dukes on 27 shots. Wellington incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Dukes ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Mike Soucier was ejected from the game.
