Stouffville downs Whitby in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

The Stouffville Spirit's Dylan Savory scored 2:41 into overtime to beat the Whitby Fury, 2-1 (OT).

Whitby was stymied by Stouffville netminder Daniel Mannella, who stopped 36 shots during the victory. Mannella managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.48 prior to the game.

The Spirit were sparked by Savory, who tallied one goal.

Stouffville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Whitby power plays.

Stouffville also got a goal from Peyton Backus as well. More assists for Stouffville came via Michael Stevens, who had one.

The Fury stifled the Spirit's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Whitby did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Fury put an average of 3.2 pucks into the net per game. Stouffville was unable to stop Whitby from sending pucks towards the net, and the Fury eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Whitby was led by Greg Milner, who scored the team's only goal. Milner scored 11:35 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Whitby. Sean Deroch picked up the assist.

The Spirit incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Fury's Josh Hickey stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that he faced. Whitby incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
