Doyle leads Orangeville over St. Michaels, 7-4

The Orangeville Flyers' John Doyle had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing three assists in his team's 7-4 win over the St. Michaels Buzzers.

Doyle found the back of the net 8:28 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Orangeville and again while 16:04 into the second to make the score 5-2 Orangeville.

Orangeville made St. Michaels' goaltenders to work between the pipes, getting 45 shots and forcing 38 saves. Adrian Ignagni made 24 stops and George Argiropoulos made 14. The Flyers bested their season scoring average. Orangeville has scored at the pace of 3.3 goals per game during the current campaign. Penalties took their toll on the Flyers, as their penalty kill unit let in three power play goals.

Orangeville also got points from Kyle Wood, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Blake Forslund, who also registered two goals and three assists to lead the team in points, and Joshua Decosta, who also had one goal and one assist. Orangeville also got a goal from Ian Nichols as well. Other players who recorded assists for Orangeville were Jordan Carvalho, who had two and Brandon Gaudette, Greg Wilson, and Jason Abbott, who contributed one a piece.

The Buzzers' offense rang up 45 shots on Orangeville's net.

St. Michaels was helped by Matt Buckles, who grabbed two goals and one assist. Buckles scored the first of his two goals at 10:17 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Patrick McCarron picked up the assist. Buckles' next tally made the score 4-2 Orangeville with 10:58 left in the second period. The Buzzers had taken the advantage when the Flyers' Jayme Forslund got sent off for cross checking. McCarron provided the assist. St. Michaels additionally got points from Michael Neville, who also racked up one goal and three assists. David Italiano also scored for St. Michaels. In addition, St. Michaels received assists from Jordan Merante, who had one.

Orangeville's Bo Bessette stopped 41 shots out of the 45 that he faced. The Flyers incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. St. Michaels incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
