Nick Marinac netted a hat trick to lead the Trenton Golden Hawks over the Wellington Dukes, 8-3.

Trenton gained an early advantage, leading 4-0 by the end of the first period.

Wellington's power play was ineffective against the Golden Hawks' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Trenton made the Dukes' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, ripping 37 shots and forcing 29 saves. Matt Larose made 24 stops and Hayden Lavigne made five. Trenton's starting goalie, Victor Adamo, made 19 saves and finished with the win before he was taken out in favor of Andrew Winsor, who stopped five shots. The Golden Hawks incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Wellington incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
