Georgetown survives Milton comeback, wins 4-2

The Georgetown Raiders came close to giving away a three-goal lead to the Milton Icehawks, but did just enough to escape with a 4-2 victory.

Georgetown led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Raiders' Robbie Murden's scored at 13:12 in the third period to put Georgetown up 3-0.

In a losing effort, Milton was led by Brad Kobryn, who registered two goals. Kobryn scored the first of his two goals at 19:22 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Georgetown. Bryce Abraham provided the assist. Kobryn's next tally made the score 3-2 Georgetown with 24 seconds left in the third period. Michael Capicotto assisted on the tally.

In the losing effort, the Icehawks were sparked by Kobryn, who grabbed two goals.

The Raiders managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Georgetown ended up below its season average of 21.0 penalty minutes per game. The Raiders' offense rang up 32 shots on Milton's net.

Georgetown was helped by Jacob Bauchman, who had one goal and one assist. Bauchman scored 12:50 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Georgetown. Alex Botten provided the assist. Georgetown additionally got points from Nick Perruccio, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Georgetown also got a goal from David Miller as well. In addition, Georgetown received assists from Steve Hladin, Brendan Woods, Drake Hart, and Anthony Marra, who each chipped in one.

The Icehawks kept the Raiders' goalie busy throughout the game, and Knick Dawe made 30 saves on 32 shots.

More assists for Milton came via Shane Bennett, who had two.

Georgetown registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities. Justin Urquhart rejected 28 shots on goal for Milton. The Icehawks avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of one power plays.
