Danforth lifts Cobourg over Kingston, 5-2

Justin Danforth was all over the ice for the Cobourg Cougars, as he tallied two goals in Cobourg's 5-2 win over the Kingston Voyageurs.

Danforth's tallies came at 3:54 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cobourg and 13:48 into the third to make the score 4-2 Cobourg.

The Cougars' offense rang up 38 shots on Kingston's net.

Cobourg additionally got points from Kenzie Smith, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Cobourg also got a goal from Conner Hogg as well. In addition, Cobourg received assists from Cody Mintz, Jake Emilio, Colbie Andrews, Evan Jasper, Corey Helliwell, Conor Carson, Connor Armour, and Mark MacAulay, who contributed one a piece.

The Voyageurs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Cobourg power plays.

Kingston was helped by Graham Yeo, who racked up one goal. Yeo scored 18:04 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Francesco Vilardi also scored for Kingston. Other players who recorded assists for Kingston were Chad Duchesne and Michael Casale, who each chipped in one.

Nathan Perry made 24 saves for Cobourg on 26 shots. The Cougars incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Charlie Finn rejected 33 shots on goal for the Voyageurs. Kingston incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
