Mississauga survives Toronto comeback, wins 5-3Chesswood Arena Sun, Dec 09, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The Toronto Junior Canadiens tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Mississauga Chargers held on for a 5-3 victory. Mississauga took a 5-2 lead during the second period, only to have Toronto storm back on a Aaron Spivak goal 11:52 into the third period to pull to two goals down. The Junior Canadiens were unable to stop the Chargers from sending pucks towards the net, and Mississauga eventually piled up 36 shots on goal. The Chargers were helped by A Latina, who racked up three goals and one assist. Mississauga additionally got points from Nick Zottl, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Mississauga also got a goal from Cosimo Fontana as well. Other players who recorded assists for Mississauga were Trevor Warnaar, who had two, Lucas Venuto, who had four, and Ryan Hunter and Patrick Mooney, who each chipped in one. Toronto kept Mississauga's goalie busy throughout the game, and Austin Washkurak made 33 saves on 36 shots. The Junior Canadiens were led by Anthony Repaci, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Repaci scored on the power play 12:56 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Mississauga. Toronto earned a power play opportunity when Mooney was put in the box for tripping. Cody Thompson provided the assist. Nicholas Jarzabek also scored for Toronto. In addition, Toronto received assists from Aaron Thow, Gregory Di Tomaso, and Robert Cammalleri, who contributed one a piece. The Chargers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Nathan Colitto rejected 31 shots on goal for the Junior Canadiens. Toronto incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Junior Canadiens ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Travis Hill was ejected from the game.
