Larose leads Wellington to shutout victory over Pickering

Matt Larose was superb between the pipes for the Wellington Dukes, as he did not allow a goal in a 4-0 victory over the Pickering Panthers.

Wellington was sparked by Luc Brown, who racked up one goal. Brown scored 15:09 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wellington. Evan Erickson assisted on the tally.

The Dukes excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Wellington's defensive effort looked to be improved. The Dukes average 2.8 goals allowed per game. Pickering was unable to stop Wellington from sending pucks towards the net, and the Dukes eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Wellington additionally got points from Joe McKeown, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Spencer Turcotte also scored for Wellington. Other players who recorded assists for Wellington were Josh Finkelstein, Mike Soucier, Brian Bunnett, and Dominic Nitti, who contributed one a piece.

The Panthers stifled Wellington's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Pickering could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Panthers average 2.9 goals per game. Pickering forced the Dukes goalie Larose to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

Larose rejected 37 shots on goal for Wellington. The Dukes incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Conor Barrie recorded 33 saves for the Panthers. Pickering incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
